Our Services
Advocacy Practice Sessions
Our Advocacy Practice Sessions offer a dynamic, practical opportunity to develop and refine legal advocacy skills in a supportive environment. Participants engage with real or simulated case scenarios, assuming the roles of claimant or defendant to practice both sides of advocacy. These sessions foster collaboration through group exercises and provide personalized feedback from experienced legal professionals, helping participants enhance their legal reasoning, oral argumentation, and persuasive speaking.
Whether you're new to advocacy or looking to polish your skills, these sessions offer a valuable opportunity to regularly practice, build confidence, develop your personal style and prepare for real-world legal practice. Attend practice sessions to take your advocacy skills to the next level!
Events - Advocacy Practice Club Open Day
Our Open Days provide an exciting opportunity for prospective members to experience what the Advocacy Practice Club has to offer. These events are designed to give participants a hands-on introduction to legal advocacy through practical workshops and case exercises. Attendees are assigned roles in simulated legal scenarios, allowing them to practice advocacy skills in a supportive, non-competitive setting.
Open Days include case surgeries, group working sessions, and feedback from experienced practitioners. Participants also have the chance to hear talks from, and engage with distinguished guest speakers, network with peers, and gain insight into how the club operates. Whether you're looking to improve your advocacy skills or meet other law enthusiasts, our Open Days are the perfect introduction to what we do.
Networking & Access to Opportunities
The Advocacy Practice Club provides members with valuable networking opportunities and access to a range of professional development resources. Through our events, workshops, and guest speaker sessions, members can connect with peers and experienced legal practitioners, including barristers, solicitors, and judges. These interactions offer insights into the legal profession and open doors to mentorship and career guidance.
Additionally, the club facilitates opportunities for members to participate in pro bono cases and other professional events. By joining the club, you not only enhance your advocacy skills but also expand your legal network and gain access to unique opportunities that can help advance your legal career.
Our Journey
The Advocacy Practice Club (APC) was founded in 2013 by a small group of aspiring barristers who met weekly to study case theories, practice submissions, and provide one another with feedback. Over time, the group members advanced in their careers and went on to forge successful paths in the legal profession.
During the lockdown, while reflecting on the club’s early days, the idea to relaunch APC surfaced, this time with a focus on accessibility for those from underrepresented backgrounds. This vision led to expanding the club’s reach beyond London to support aspiring barristers from across the UK.
Now in 2024, APC has evolved into a more developed organization offering a wider array of legal subjects and an expanded network. Our members have access to a range of resources and opportunities designed to empower aspiring barristers, ensuring they achieve excellence and ultimately succeed at the bar.
